Entourage Automated Medication Dispenser

Worried About Mom Missing Her Pills?

The Food and Drug Administration estimates that 1.3 million people are injured annually in the United States due to medication errors. These errors include taking the wrong medication, taking an improper dosage, missing a round of meds altogether, and many more. Fortunately, most of these mistakes can be prevented with safe and proven technologies.

What if you could …

Entourage Medication Management System

The Entourage “Boss” Series of automated medication dispensers and the Bossy control application.

Healthier together

Reliable help is finally here! Medication management for older adults made easy and safe.

For older patients, following a medication regimen is critical to maintaining good health. With 28.5% of those 65 and older living alone, and 40% of older adults experiencing memory impairment, remembering to take medication can be challenging.

The Entourage Boss dispenser takes over the responsibility, relieving you and your loved one from memorizing their medication regimen. It’s simple and secure

How the Entourage Medication Management System Works

1

Caregiver Enters Details

A caregiver enters the details of the medication regimen into the Bossy app and loads the dispenser with the prescribed medications.

2

Dispenser Locked

The dispenser stays securely locked until it’s time for the patient to take their medication.

3

Notification Alerts

When it’s time to take medications, the Boss dispenser sends visual, audible, and electronic alerts to the patient and selected healthcare team members.

4

Safe Medication Dispensing

The medications are dispensed only when the patient or caregiver confirms they are ready to take them, preventing errors such as overdosing or tampering.

The medications can be dispensed via a custom program setting or on an individual basis using the Bossy app. Either Boss dispenser can be controlled remotely, so doses can be dispensed when the caregiver is not in the patient’s presence. Also, the dispenser will send alerts if someone tries to move or access the medications without proper authorization.

Yes, but initial setup requires access to a smartphone with the Bossy application installed. The phone can be used to access many of the Boss’s advanced features.

The authorized user must push the dispense button on the front of the dispenser or use the Bossy application installed on their phone to start the dispensing process. This process takes approximately 20 seconds to complete. An authorized user can start this process by using the Bossy app while not physically present at the machine.

Yes. Actually, a Boss dispenser can be programmed for more than two users. Each individual’s regimen is set separately, and the Boss will notify the correct patient when it is time to take medication.

Yes. Hard or soft gel caps work just fine with the Boss, but “gummy” pills may jam the transport mechanism. Do NOT use gummy pills in any Boss dispenser.

Yes. Vegetable caps work well with the Boss. You can use any medication except those in “gummy” form.

Yes, the Boss can dispense vitamins, as well as liquid-filled gel capsules, half tablets, chewables, or dissolvable medications without modification.
However, medications in “gummy” form ARE NOT compatible with the Boss
dispenser. These types of medications will cause the dispenser to malfunction.

The Boss only dispenses pills when a responsible party confirms the patient is ready to take them. Dispensing the pills takes approximately 20 seconds. This process eliminates the need to reload missed dosages.

Forty-five doses. You can use two cartridges for a 90-day prescription.

Twelve 90-day doses. Use two separate cartridges (45 doses per cartridge) for a 90-day prescription. The Boss will automatically switch to the second cartridge without user intervention.

Any Boss dispenser can handle a C000 size pill, which measures approximately one inch in length, .376 inches in diameter, and holds approximately 22.2 ml, as well as most other pills. Do not use gummy pills as they may jam the transport mechanism.

The Boss works equally well with either size tablet.

No. Only one capsule or pill per cartridge slot. If you add two capsules or pills to one slot, the extra pill will cause the cartridge to malfunction and could damage the transport mechanism.

Each Boss medication cartridge holds 45 medication doses. The Big Boss dispenser has 24 cartridges and the Boss dispenser has 12 cartridges. So, the Big Boss dispenser holds 24 medications, and the Boss holds 12 different medications, respectively.

For a 90-day prescription, a patient will use two cartridges, so the Big Boss can hold a maximum of twelve 90-day prescriptions (use two cartridges for each prescription). If a patient doesn’t need twelve 90-day prescriptions, the Big Boss can be configured to hold the following number of 45-day prescriptions versus 90-day prescriptions: 45-day/90-day: 0/12, 2/11, 4/10, 6/9, 8/8, 10/7, 12/6, 14/5, 16/4, 18/3, 20/2, 22/1, 24/0.
